UK-bound migrant is electrocuted ‘in ball of flames’ after climbing onto train at Eurostar station in Paris

A MIGRANT heading for the UK was electrocuted in a “ball of flame” after climbing on top of a Eurostar train and getting struck by an overhead cable.

Disturbing CCTV footage captured the man standing up on top of the train before the horror blaze erupted.

The unidentified man ran across train tracks at Gare du Nord station in Paris station on Thursday evening.

A police source said: “He got on to the roof of Eurostar wagon that was motionless.

“He had earlier been seen crossing nearby tracks, apparently not realising how dangerous the situation was.

“He stood up, and then there was a ball of flame.”

Emergency services rushed to the scene and firefighters managed to put out the blaze around 10pm.

But despite their best attempts the man died just minutes after he was struck by the overhead cable.

He was left “unrecognisable” said the source following the horrific accident.

Early police enquiries suggest he was an immigrant sleeping rough in Paris and trying to move to the UK.

Gare du Nord, Paris’ main train station and the busiest in France, faced another horror incident just days ago.

A knifeman went on a rampage in the station, injuring at least six people before he was shot by cops.

And shockingly it isn’t the first incident of someone climbing onto a train at the station.

In 2017 one man suffered severe burns from doing so.

Just two years earlier a teenager was thrown from the top of a train there due to the force of another electric shock – leaving him with severe injuries.
