The viewing point was built extremely close to Es Morro den Moll – a cliff with a drop of more than 400ft.

Emergency rescuers from Algaida Local Police and Majorca Fire Department were called after they got trapped under the rubble.

Authorities were able to safely rescue six people and rushed them to different hospitals with non-severe injuries.

Joan Fornàs,  the island’s director of the Interior Department, went to the scene of the incident and supervised the work and coordination of the various emergency teams on site.
