Brit tourist, 34, seriously injured in 50ft plunge after ‘falling backwards over wall’ on night out in Magaluf resort

A BRITISH tourist has been left seriously injured after falling backwards down a 50-foot embankment in Majorca, Spain.

The 34-year-old woman had been on a boozy night out in Magaluf when she fell from a wall she was resting on after a taxi ride.

In unconfirmed local reports, the woman was reportedly drunk when she fell off the wall on Tuesday night in Cala Vinyas.

The woman who has not been named was rescued by police and firefighters who had trouble accessing her due to the terrain.

She was rushed to a private hospital in Palma where her injuries were assessed.

A picture from the rescue showed the woman in a neckbrace lying on a stretcher as medics and the police surrounded her.

The extent of her injuries is not yet known.

It has been reported that the woman was with her sister and two female friends at the time of the incident.

Local police have been approached for comment.

It comes just months after a spate of other holiday tragedies.

A 28-year-old Brit was killed in a 15-foot fall at a hotel in Palmanova near Magaluf on August 17.

The holidaymaker had been out partying and fell during the night but was not found until 7 am.

Investigators believe he fell after trying to enter the wrong hotel which caused him to lose his way and try to find a shortcut which led to his tragic death.

Just three days later another teenage holidaymaker plunged to her death from the sixth floor of a hotel in Ibiza.

She was pronounced dead at the scene after falling from the seafront four-star hotel Hotel Vibra District in the party resort of San Antonio.

Despite desperate attempts by paramedics to save her, she died from the severity of her injuries.

Back in July, The Sun reported that a 45-year-old Brit died in Cyprus after falling from the third-floor balcony of a luxury hotel while on holiday with friends.

Officials said he was part of a group of holidaymakers who were out drinking before the tragic accident, local media reports.

The man was found dead in the hotel garden after plummeting 33ft from the third floor.

After repeated deaths and accidents caused by boozy Brits abroad, some tourist hotspots are hitting back.
