He made a FaceTime call to his relatives from the Big Ben pub in Avenida Juan Carlos, Los Cristianos on December 16 – but has not been seen or heard from since.

Fears are now growing for the dad, who arrived in Tenerife at the end of November.

His phone is understood to have been offline since December 22.

Paul’s son Mark is concerned he may be sleeping rough on the beach or possibly in caves.

He said: “Anyone with any news about my dad, good or bad, please get in touch.”

An appeal has also been launched by a local missing persons group.

The Sun has contacted the Foreign Office for comment.

It comes after a British man who vanished while holidaying on the Canary island was last month found.

Kris Finney, from Lancashire, flew to the Spanish island to meet a friend but was reported missing after not being heard from for several days.

He was found four days later by a local shopkeeper who helped him after he was left with no money and a shattered phone.

Meanwhile, the disappearance of British teenager Jay Slater in Tenerife hit headlines over the summer.

The 19-year-old vanished after leaving an Airbnb in remote Masca while on holiday with two pals.

Authorities and volunteers conducted a massive search on the island with drones, dogs and a helicopter, for nearly a month.

But his body was tragically found after he fell to his death sometime after leaving the Airbnb.

A post-mortem conducted in the UK confirmed that Jay died because of traumatic head injuries, consistent with a “fall from height”.
