UKRAINE has launched a devastating revenge attack on the Russian missile brigades that slaughtered 35 in Sumy on Palm Sunday.
Some 119 Ukrainian civilians were also wounded in the bloodbath, when Russia launched a lethal “double tap” strike on the city centre.

Ukraine on Tuesday aimed drone strikes directly at Russia 448th and 112th missile brigades – the two groups behind the Sumy killings.
They first hit the launch point of the 448th in the Kursk region, triggering secondary explosions and a major inferno.
Then a series of kamikaze planes unloaded explosives on the 112th in the Ivanovo region, shrouding the Russian base in a huge mushroom cloud.
One of Ukraine‘s retaliatory drones was scrawled with a message for the murderers: “****wits of the 112th, this is for Sumy.”
The Sumy strike – which deliberately targeted civilians and killed two children – was one of the most horrific of the conflict yet.
A colossal 21-ft missile slammed into the town centre as worshippers returned from church.
That was followed by another minutes later, which scattered cluster munitions amongst the rescue workers for maximum death.
Ukraine and world leaders condemned the brutal assault as a “war crime”.
Kremlin TV coldly branded the civilians killed in Sumy “collateral damage”.
The General Staff of Ukraine’s Army confirmed the attacks on Tuesday were acts of retribution.
Officials said the drones “attacked a number of objects in the Kursk region associated with war criminals involved in the missile attack on the city of Sumy on April 13, 2025, and other war crimes.
“In particular, the permanent deployment point of the 448th missile brigade of the Russian occupiers was hit, a secondary detonation of ammunition was recorded.
“The results of the strike are being clarified.”
Unconfirmed reports suggest that Russian soldiers were injured in the revenge strike.
A Russian source said there was a “massive approach of drones” but the Russian troops “managed to jump out, run away. There are wounded.”

They added: “The blast wave cut the guys down, but thank God everyone is alive […] everything burned down.”
At least five drones were then unleashed to hit the 112th brigade – identified as An-196 Lyutiys which can hold explosive warheads weighing up to 60kg.
Russia claims to have destroyed multiple drones around the 112th base.
Russia’s 112th missile brigade is accused of systematic “terror bombing”.
Officially, their job is to support Russian troops in north-east Ukraine by taking out military targets with truck-loaded missiles.
But in reality, they spearhead a bloody campaign to wreak havoc and fear amongst Ukraine’s citizens.
In October 2023, the 112th was accused of firing an Iskander at a funeral in the village of Hroza, killing 59 mourners.
Another attack, last July, destroyed a demining office in Kharkiv.
