The terrifying incident unfolded on platforms 13/14 at Hamburg Central Station, according to German outlet BILD.
Initial reports suggested eight people had been hurt, but authorities later clarified the toll: three victims are in critical condition, three are seriously injured, and six others suffered minor injuries.
Some of the injured are being treated on trains, BILD reports.
Federal police confirmed a woman has been arrested in connection with the rampage.
But the motive behind the attack is still unknown as cops continue their investigation.
“There is currently a major police operation in #Hamburg on #Hauptbahnhof!” Hamburg police said in a post on X.
“We are investigating the background and will provide further information here shortly.”
Dozens of police officers and first responders can be seen securing the scene outside Hamburg Central Station.
One victim of the Hamburg train station knife attack could also be seen being rushed in a stretcher by paramedics.
It comes after two people were killed and two police officers wounded in a brutal knife attack in the Netherlands.
Emergency crews, including ambulances and trauma teams, raced to a property in Hoofddorp, near Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, on Wednesday morning.
One police vehicle at the scene was left spattered with blood.
Dutch police confirmed officers had opened fire during the incident, which began after reports of a fight inside the home.
