Footage shows just how quickly an accidental fire became a roof-destroying blaze, with workers in the Alueuropa warehouse only just managing to escape.
Reports say that the fire was initially caused accidentally due to a “catastrophic failure”.
The shocking footage has been shared widely on social media platforms like X, formerly Twitter, and YouTube, with many commentators saying it seemed like the fire had opened a “portal to hell”.
The security footage reveals that two workers were able to react quickly as the fire rapidly spreads, before causing the roof to collapse, with pieces of debris crashing down.
Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire that broke out in June 2022, including the two employees seen in the clip.
The YouTube video, called: “A portal to hell at an aluminium plant that swallowed up the entire shop in a matter of seconds,” has to date been viewed more than 90,000 times.
One commentator said: “It’s amazing how quickly fires can spread. These men had literally 20 seconds from the time the flames started until the room became completely uninhabitable and unsurvivable.”
Another wrote: “Those two workers are SO VERY LUCKY they left when they did considering the immanent disaster that took place only seconds after they were out of view of the camera.”
While a third added: “Remember, folks, just run. Don’t go back for s**t. You can buy a new phone. You can take new pictures. You have no idea how soon the roof will come down on you.
“I have been in a burning building before. It is all fun and games until you can no longer see or breath. I never actually saw any fire.”
Another said: “Dude almost got grilled, only to get his phone or something, they were both very lucky!
“When fire spreads so frickin’ fast, it’s consuming lots of oxygen and if they were only hidden, they probably wouldn’t have survived that inferno.”
