Lloyd Austin said on a visit to Israel that he was not there to “dictate timelines or terms” for the war in Gaza, and said US support is “ironclad”.

But he had spoken with counterpart Yoav Gallant on how to reduce harm to civilians.
President Joe Biden has expressed fears that Israel is starting to lose international support due to “indiscriminate bombing” and has urged the country to “be more careful”.
Yesterday Hamas claimed 110 were killed in a strike on a refugee camp.
The IDF did not comment on the reports other than to say it was operating in the area which it considers a Hamas stronghold,
And Israel hit back at claims its snipers had killed two women in a Gaza City church, saying Hamas may have been responsible.
Ex-Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said Israel was “making the mistake of losing its moral authority alongside its legal one”.
PM Rishi Sunak said Israel had the right to defend itself but must do so within humanitarian law.
