Al Jazira is recognising the crucial role played by frontline workers across Abu Dhabi, by distributing exclusive limited-edition kits to a group of lucky recipients alongside its partners Healthpoint, ADNOC and Al Ain Farms.
The kits were worn during the opening games of the 2020/21 season, as part of the club’s innovative partnership global sports manufacturer PUMA. The limited-edition design featured in three Arabian Gulf Cup matches against Ittihad Kalba, Al Nasr and Al Dhafra before the introduction of the club’s main kit.
The Pride of Abu Dhabi is working with its main club partners to select the lucky recipients for these unique items of sporting memorabilia. It is the latest Covid-related community initiative from the club, which is currently top of the table with just three matches remaining.
Speaking on the initiative, Al Jazira’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Ali Youssif Al Hammadi, commented: “Al Jazira Club knows only too well its role in the Abu Dhabi community and how grateful everyone is for the tireless bravery of our city’s frontline workers.
“We are the Pride of Abu Dhabi for a reason, a club at the heart of a wonderful community with a unique bond between our fans, our players and coaches and of course, our club’s partners.
“Our partnership with PUMA enabled us to kick the season off with a limited-edition kit and we’re thrilled to donate these unique pieces of sporting memorabilia to those from the city that deserve them the most.”
The club is working with its main partners to ensure the most worthy of recipients. The partners involved – Healthpoint, ADNOC and Al Ain Farms – all work closely with the club throughout the season on a wide variety of community-based initiatives.
The club’s leading goal scorer Ali Mabkhout said: “This is such a brilliant initiative by the club and I can’t think of better recipients for the limited-edition PUMA kits.
“We will forever be indebted to the bravery of those working on the frontline. I’m proud that the club has chosen to distribute these limited-edition kits to these heroes and provide them with a token of our appreciation for everything that they do.”
The club recently launched a vaccination drive in collaboration with main partner Mubadala as part of the Department of Health and the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19. Players and staff received their dose of vaccines at Healthpoint, one of Mubadala Health’s integrated network of world-class healthcare providers.
With three matches remaining in the UAE Pro League season, Al Jazira at the top of the table, one point clear off Bani Yas in second position and seven ahead of third-place Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club.
