Israeli officials have denied comment, Reuters reports.

A picture taken in the south of the Lebanese capital shows crowds gathering at the possible site of the strike.

Lebanese media claimed the target was reportedly a Hamas office.

Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency said the blast killed four people and was carried out by an Israeli drone.

Arouri was a senior official in Hamas’s politburo but was known to be deeply involved in its military affairs.

He was one of the founders of Hamas’ military wing, heading the terrorist group’s presence in the West Bank.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had threatened to kill him even before the Hamas bloodbath on October 7, which sparked the ongoing war.
