British missiles blitz Russian military hardware worth £1bn in just a month during Ukraine war

BRITISH missiles have blitzed Russian military hardware worth £1billion in just a month during the Ukraine war.

The devastating impact of the Storm Shadows was revealed as Defence Secretary Grant Shapps warned wobbly US allies “we cannot afford to become complacent”.

The bunker-busting cruise missiles hit a Russian sub and Vladimir Putin’s Black Sea navy HQ in September.

Sources revealed the “bang for their buck” as a £40billion military aid deal was blocked by the US Congress.

One said: “UK-provided missiles have repeatedly gotten past Russian air defences, destroying high value assets.

“In September Ukraine forces, using UK-gifted equipment such as Storm Shadows or drones destroyed around £1billion of Russian assets.”

Mr Shapps insisted UK support was “unwavering” and Russia will “never win in Ukraine” if its allies remain united.

He added: “We cannot allow malicious actors like Putin to claim territory with impunity, at the cost of thousands of lives.”

First Lady Olena Zelenska warned at the weekend Ukraine was in “mortal danger” without foreign aid.
